QUEEN Howdy Team Virginia! My name is Ashlynn Culbreth and I am your 2024-2025 Miss Virginia High School Rodeo Queen! I am a senior from Galax, Virginia and my rodeo events include barrel racing and pole bending. Outside of rodeo, I enjoy giving riding lessons and teaching the next generation of rodeo! I am honored to serve as your VHSRA Queen this year with my fellow student officers. I am blessed with the opportunity to represent this association by traveling all around our great state making appearances in order to promote more sponsors, volunteers, and contestants! I am so excited for this season and I am excited to make new memories that will last a lifetime, best of luck to all of the contestants this rodeo season! Kay Bradner

Kellen Hamm
PRESIDENT Hi my name is Kellen Hamm. I am a rising junior and have been a member of VHSRA for 9 years. I started as a Maverick and only competed in Barrel Racing and Pole Bending with my Heart Horse Dan the Man! I now compete in Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Pole Bending with a team of 4 horses. My favorite thing about Team Virginia is the feeling of family. You can always count on your rodeo family to be there whenever you need them. My favorite rodeo memories are when all the kids get together and play volleyball, kickball or wiffleball after the rodeo. I am looking forward to seasoning my young rope horse this season. I plan on helping the association come together more by cheering, supporting and encouraging each other in and out of the arena and having FUN! Emma Bays
VICE PRESIDENT I am a rising senior and I have been a member of VHSRA for 3 years and I chose to be a student officer because I wanted to ensure that newer members felt welcome and included, being a fairly new member myself. I am most looking forward to competing alongside my friends during the upcoming season! Events: Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, and Goat Tying. Quin Warren
Junior High AMBASSADOR My name is Quin. I am a rising 8th grader and have been a member of VHSRA since 2018. My favorite part of this association is getting to meet people from all over the country. One thing I like most about rodeo is that I am able to ride horses. I look forward to multistate rodeos this season. My favorite rodeo memory is from this year at nationals when my friend Avery and I went to see the Buffalo in Des Moines, Iowa. It is important to me as a JH Ambassador to voice other junior high contestants opinions. Hagen Kight
Junior High AMBASSADOR Hi, I'm Hagen Kight, and I'm super excited to be a Junior Ambassador for the Virginia High School rodeo association. I feel blessed to get to share my rodeo journey with all of you. I've been in love with rodeo since I was 5 years old and first joined the Virginia High School rodeo in 2019. I started out doing mutton bustin', and from there, I learned how to goat tie, barrel race, and pole bend. Besides competing in rodeo events, I also love helping out the association both inside and outside the arena. Whether it's setting up poles and barrels, pushing calves, or cheering on my friends, I'm always there to support the team in any way I can. Right now, I'm taking part in lots of different rodeo events like breakaway roping, chute dogging, ribbon roping, goat tying, and even light rifle shooting. Just last year, I started learning team roping, which has been so much fun! Rodeo isn't just a hobby for me; it's a big part of my life that brings me so much happiness and satisfaction. What makes it even more special is that my dad used to compete in Virginia High School rodeo, and now my brother and I are following in his footsteps. Rodeo has brought our family closer together, and the friendships, experiences, and memories we've made are priceless. As a Junior Ambassador, I can't wait to keep on making a positive impact on the association and sharing the values of sportsmanship, friendship, and hard work with everyone in the rodeo community. I'm really looking forward to representing Virginia High School Rodeo with lots of pride and excitement. Let's rodeo! |
